Main purpose & goals
As the Data Lead, you will play a crucial role in creating a better world for pets by ensuring effective data and business process integration within our digital transformation landscape. You will collaborate with our talented functional teams to optimize current data flows and processes, and work with colleagues across Mars to drive the wider digital transformation agenda.
This is a hybrid role with travel required to Shirley and sites across the Uk.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify digital technologies and collaborate with stakeholders to pinpoint areas where digital technologies can enhance data and process workflows.
- Lead the implementation of digital data technologies ensuring they meet data requirements and align to our business strategic goals.
- Analyse and optimize existing business workflows by developing a deep understanding of how current systems and products interact, then propose and implement improvements to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Evaluate current data flows and business process to ensure digital solutions support simplification and harmonization. Address complexities arising from a disaggregated technology stack by working closely with IT, Data& Analytics, and Operations teams.
- Formulate a clear strategy outlining goals, processes and technologies for data integration and workflow simplification. Ensure the data strategy aligns with the overall digital transformation objectives and broader business strategy.
- As Digital Data Steward ensure the integrity, compatibility, and effectiveness of digital solutions within the business. Collaborate with the Data Quality Lead in D&A team and other data stewards to enhance accuracy of data used daily, and strategic decision-making.
- Partner with IT, D&A, Finance and Operations teams to establish robust data governance practices and optimize workflows whilst ensuring compliance data governance policies and procedures.

Experience
Track record of implementing digital tools and technologies to optimize data workflows.
Experience of working effectively within a multifunctional team.
Ability to work with and influence multiple stakeholders across the business.
Knowledge of how to map business process and data workflows.
Proven experience in data management and digital transformation projects.
Experience in the pet care industry or a related field.
Previous work in a global or multi-national organization.
Knowledge
Strong understanding of data governance principles and practices.
Knowledge of digital integration and process optimization strategies.
Familiarity with IT, Data & Analytics and Operations.
Up to date knowledge of advancements in digital technologies, including automation, systems, and AI.
Qualifications
Degree level (Data Science, Information Technology, Business Administration) or proven experience in similar roles.
Certifications in data management, digital transformation, or relevant areas.
Post-grad business, change or programme/project management qualifications.
Skills & Abilities

Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at various levels.
Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities.
Proficient in using digital tools and technologies for data management.
Strong time and prioritisation management.

Ecosystem mindset (ability to think Linnaeus, Mars Petcare & broader Ecosystem).
Advanced data analysis skills using tools like SQL, Python, PowerShell etc.
Experience using Cloud Platforms (Azure) and Data Services.
