Your role and responsibilities

The Laboratory Courier is a key part of our Laboratory team and is responsible for collecting samples from a regular route of veterinary practices across East Anglia.

The position is up to 6 hours per day, starting at 16:30 Monday – Friday. No weekends or bank holidays are required.


Key Skills

  • Collect and deliver samples in a well organised, timely and professional manner
  • Careful and up to date record keeping
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, internally and externally
  • Carry out daily and weekly vehicle checks performing general maintenance tasks including checking oil, tyre pressures etc
  • Report any faults or defects immediately
  • Represent DWR in a friendly and professional manner
  • Cover colleagues’ routes when they are on annual leave
  • Follow and abide by all road laws and legislation at all times
  • Drive in a professional and courteous manner

Requirements For The Role

Essential

  • Full, clean driving license

Preferred

  • Previous driving experience in a similar role is preferred although not essential
  • Some light mechanical knowledge would be ideal e.g. changing bulbs, changing tyres etc.
