About us
We are looking for a Lead Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team.
Veterinary Specialists Scotland (VSS) is a multi-disciplinary referral hospital at Deer Park, Livingston, close to Edinburgh and Glasgow.
VSS is conveniently located off junction 3 of the M8 motorway, and also accessible via the M9. Close to both Edinburgh and Glasgow, we are also easily reached from Stirling and the Borders.
You will join an already established night team, working a shift pattern of 30hrs a week over 4 evenings, which facilitates a consistency of care, an overlap with all 3 teams, as well as an attractive work life balance.
The Night Nurse Lead will be responsible for the efficient and effective leadership of the Night nursing teams and the Night VCA team. You will work closely and collaboratively with the Head of Nursing Services (HONS), other Team Leaders and Lead Nurses and PCAs across the Practice to ensure the efficient delivery of outstanding patient care. You will work enthusiastically with the nursing team to help maintain a happy and efficient working environment, whilst ensuring practice and group polices are always adhered to. This role requires strong, inclusive, decisive leadership, clear communication, and the ability to inspire and motivate the team in order to deliver the Linnaeus nursing strategy and achieve the practice’s goals. The position will include providing performance reviews, training and co-ordination for all relevant associates working within your team. Approximately 90% of the working week will be spent undertaking operational clinical duties as part of the nursing team providing an excellent service to patients within the Hospital.

The successful candidate will have at least 2 year’s experience in a referral setting and will demonstrate effective scheduling and supportive team leadership skills.
