Village Vet are a well-established, RCVS accredited, group of small animal Primary Care practices with locations in London, Hertfordshire, and Cambridgeshire. Alongside our primary care sites, we also have three Hospitals providing 24-hour continuous care to pets and their owners and providing support to the surrounding practices. 

Whittlesford practice is located in a beautiful village, south of Cambridge close to Whittlesford Parkway with direct links to London. Whittlesford practice is a purpose-built site which is well-equipped with full digital diagnostic facilities, laboratory, operating theatre, separate dog and cat wards and ample parking on site.

 

Your role and responsibilities

The role of a Lead Nurse working with the Clinical Nurse Manager is considered key to the business's ability to provide a high level of clinical standards. Working enthusiastically with the Clinical Nurse Manager you will demonstrate an excellent work protocol in all nursing duties while taking overall responsibility for a specific area of the practice.

The Consulting Lead Nurse would work with the Clinical team and Clinical Nurse Manager to identify a range of appropriate nurse clinics. Collaborate with Clinical & Client Care teams to establish set protocol and standard operating procedures for nurse clinics to ensure that the nursing clinics are booked accordingly and encouraged.

Work closely and collaborate with the nurse team to ensure that the nursing clinics at Whittlesford are delivered to a high standard, utilising support from the central nursing team, preferred suppliers, and marketing teams to help support the development, delivery and success of specific clinics

NB: Approximately 95% of the role will be clinical duties (including a full share of the on-call rota) to allow 5% for administration that may come with that role

We seek a proactive candidate/s, with at least 1- 2 years post registration experience looking to step into a leadership role. Previous experience working with and providing guidance for Patient Care Assistants and/or Student Veterinary Nurses would also be desirable. As would a drive for excellence and an ability to signpost associates to relevant continuing professional development

Hours:

  • 42hrs/week Mon - Fri
  • Weekends 1:6 (with time off in lieu allocated)                                                 
  • 1x bank holiday per year.
