Cromwell Vets are a busy 24-hour first opinion small animal hospital, RCVS accredited, with five branch surgeries and a fabulous physiotherapy/hydrotherapy centre. Our practice has been caring for pets for over 100 years and we pride ourselves on providing the very best care and service for our pets and their owners. We are fortunate to have our tier 3 hospital with excellent facilities and equipment and it is an exciting time to be joining us as we are now primed ready for further growth including a move to a new purpose-built hospital.

Our wonderful Team is at the heart of Cromwell Vets – we are one big family! We enjoy being part of our communities and attend local events to run fun dog shows raising money each year for our chosen charity and encouraging team members to take part. Cromwell Vets also holds regular social events including summer events, impromptu lunchtime barbeques in the summer and the famous annual Christmas party.

Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for a confident, talented and experienced veterinary surgeon to join our friendly, passionate Night team.

You will be joining a very welcoming team that all support each other. All of our Associates are committed to the care of our clients and their pets and we would love to hear from applicants who share the same values. Many of our clinical team hold certificates in medicine, surgery, cardiology, dermatology and diagnostic imaging, with advanced practitioners in medicine and surgery. We are always keen to support professional development and certificates, where possible.

During our night shifts, there are two Vet Surgeons working until midnight, Monday to Friday and a second Vet on call on Saturdays and Sundays. You would also be working alongside two Night Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVN's). This is a great role with fantastic support and a good rota. 

4-week rolling rota:

  • Week 1: 7 on (5 twilights 4pm-midnight), (2 nights 7pm-8am)
  • Week 2: 7 off
  • Week 3: 5 on (Nights 7 pm-8am)
  • Week 4: 9 off

    (This rota includes just 1 weekend in 4)
