We are a busy small animal Primary Care Practice working alongside 5 receptionists, 4 vets, and 6 Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVN) in Newmarket Suffolk. We have 4 visiting specialists who we work alongside (an orthopedic, cardiologist, neurologist, and an ophthalmologist). We are keen for nurses to enhance their skills, you will be supported with this by our confident nursing team who place all our intravenous catheters, blood, dental Xrays, dental scale and polishes, Xrays, and minor procedures.
Your role and responsibilities
At Lida vets, we have a very close and strong veterinary nursing team and we would like someone to join us who will become our friend and join us for social events inside and outside of work. We welcome all personalities as long as you love nursing as much as we do.
All nursing tasks will be used throughout your shifts from nursing inpatients and monitoring anaesthesia to nursing clinics and emergencies. We really like to encourage our staff to further their interests and developments whether this is through CPD or certificates.
We have high-spec equipment including a brand new ultrasound machine, anaesthesia monitoring including capnography (this includes anaesthesia training courses).
40 hours per week, with a half an hour lunch break (this allows us to leave early one day a week).
1 in 7 weekends, with toil or overtime available. Following a weekend working you will be off on Wednesday and will not be on a 12 pm-9 pm shift unless nurses are on holiday/off.
Saturday 7.30am-1.30pm, overtime available after 1.30pm. On-call from 1.30 pm on Saturday until 7 pm, and 8 am to 7 pm on call on Sunday
A fair shift pattern (7am-1pm or 7.30-1.30pm, 8am-5pm if there are enough staff working, 9.30am-6.30pm and 12pm-9pm)
