Location: 609 - 613 Sutton Road, North Cheam, Sutton Hours: Part time Practice: Maven Veterinary Care Salary: £24,000 to £28,000 (pro rata) depending on experience Practice Details Maven Veterinary Care

We are a 100% small animal primary care practice located in North Cheam, London. We are accredited with Practice Standards Hospital Accreditation and 4 Outstanding RCVS Awards and Gold Standard Cat-Friendly Clinic. We have modern outstanding facilities and an award-winning design. We thrive to exceed expectations by providing expert care for our clients and their pets as we dedicate our time to look after them and keep them healthy.

Your role and responsibilities

Maven Veterinary Care has an opening for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our multiple award-winning teams on a part-time basis.

We have a vibrant and caring nursing team who are passionate about their patients and career. Currently, we have 16 RVNs with 2 Student Veterinary Nurses (SVN), and they are supported by 4 Veterinary Care Assistants and 1 Kennel Assistant. Additionally, we have 9 vets, 6 of whom have post-graduate certificates, and a dedicated Client Care team.

A typical day at Maven sees an interesting and varied caseload. There is a variety of 8-hour shifts to ensure nurses have the opportunity to rotate through their various disciplines. Our nurses are highly skilled and highly valued. They actively participate in daily rounds and monthly team meetings, all working towards improving patient care. They are able to utilise their skills in managing in-patients, Schedule 3 procedures, anaesthesia, surgery and consulting. They are encouraged and supported to follow their passions and drive their career.

We are well-established in the area and our clients are dedicated and bonded and want the highest quality people to be looking after their pets. Our RVNs do not work on-call or overnight as our patient care continuity is supported with 24-hour provision from Vets Now who are on-site to provide our after-hours service. The weekend shifts are minimal due to our large team and time in lieu is given the following week.

This role would suit a reliable and passionate RVN wishing to join a talented clinical team to help them deliver the highest possible standard patient and client care. You will be joining a team that really cares about each other, celebrates the good times while supporting each through the challenging times.

We are committed to training the next generation of nurses, and therefore, a Clinical Coach qualification would be advantageous, however, encouragement and training would be given to those without previous coaching experience.

To enable us to fully support our students, we are looking for an RVN with at least 1 years post qualification experience.

Don’t just take our word for it

Sarah Brennan RVN:

"I have been at Maven for over 10 years, what makes me stay is the support I have always received from the practice, both management and the other teams. We really are one big family and everyone gets on very well. We work to a high standard and our patients receive nothing but the best care. Both within and across the teams everyone is very much willing to help each other and enjoy sharing our experiences and learning along the way".

Laura Underwood VCA:

I joined Maven as I have always wanted to work with animals and Maven looked like a great place to work, after going to the website and having a nose around I was more sure I wanted to work here. I stay at Maven because we have a fantastic team and all of us work together and care about each other whether we are reception, nurses, vcas, vets or management. Maven really encourages vcas to keep learning even if we want to stay as a vca and not move up to nursing, they really care about our input and how we can be utilised more for the smooth running of the practice.

Lisa, Clinical Nursing Manager:

I originally started here for maternity cover, but instantly felt that I had found the practice that ticked all the boxes I was looking for in a place to work and build a career. Every member of the team here, is approachable, supportive and above all passionate about delivering a high standard of care to our patients and clients.
