• Specialist Intern in Small Animal Oncology

Your role and responsibilities

We are a team who are all focused on delivering compassionate and thoughtful care for animals with cancer and looking for like-minded individuals to help us in this goal. You will assist with seeing our consultations, chemotherapy and restaging appointments. There is generally an increase in responsibilities and owner contact during the year.

We take time to discuss our cases with the intern to provide opportunities for learning every day. We also have weekly journal club or book club and will encourage writing a scientific manuscript if the candidate is interested. The successful candidate will have regular progress updates with their supervisor.

The oncology team is made up of four clinicians, a resident, two nurses and the intern. We work in close association with the many other specialisms in the hospital.

This position will be for 12 months from September 2024. It would suit a motivated individual wishing to gain in-depth experience and pursue a further career in oncology.

Candidates should ideally have 1 or 2 years post qualification experience in the UK plus have completed a rotating internship. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential.
