Eastcott Veterinary Hospital is an RCVS Accredited Multidisciplinary Referral Practice based in Swindon, Wiltshire, just off the M4. Our referral hospital is led by a team of Veterinary Specialists who provide an exceptionally high level of clinical and surgical veterinary care. The hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities in all disciplines, and our team offers a warm welcome to referring vets, clients, and patients.

With our primary care and 24-hour emergency services, we care for pets from all over the south as well as animals in our local community. Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed nurse to join our team of 6 surgeon specialists, 10 nurses, and 3 surgery technicians covering both a soft tissue and orthopaedic case load in a busy multidisciplinary hospital.

We are a friendly team who work closely together provide outstanding care to our patients.  The role consists of a mix of general anesthesia / sedation of advanced imaging and surgical procedures, and theatre nurse duties to include scrubbing into cases and theatre organisation.  The surgery nursing team also works closely with our anesthetists to support range of complex anaesthetic cases. 

The ideal candidate would have referral nursing experience and further anesthesia knowledge; however this is not essential as a training induction plan will be provided. Your passions and interests will be encouraged and supported with further learning opportunities. 

The successful candidate would work a full-time 40-hour shift pattern of mainly 4 days between the hours of 8am - 6pm with a later shift week on rotation. This includes 1 in 8 weekend working pattern and one bank holiday a year.

 

There is also an exciting opportunity to join our surgery team as a nurse Team Leader where you will work predominantly within the surgery team as a nurse, but will also be an integral part of our nursing leadership team. This role involves line managing lead nurses, assisting and supporting them with leading their team, and acting as a representative and advocate for the nursing teams at Eastcott.
