• Veterinary Surgeon (Exotics interest)

Location: Hours: Primary Care, Full time, Part time Practice: Broadway Veterinary Surgery Salary: Up to £65,000 Practice Details Broadway Veterinary Surgery

Are you a small animal Vet Surgeon with an exotics interest?

Are you looking for a role that you can advance your skills alongside a growing exotics caseload?

If so, we may have the perfect role for you…

Broadway Vets have been established for over 40 years offering high standards of primary care to small animals across Merseyside, with sites in Heswall, Higher Bebington & Wallasey. We are a progressive, growing and highly successful practice and are entering an exciting new chapter in our practice’s history.

We have lots of exciting plans in motion for 2022, including investment in our main site, equipment, team, and services. As part of these plans, we are looking to welcome an experienced first opinion vet with an exotics interest, exotics certificate or working towards an exotics certificate. You will work with Charlie, our new graduate associate, to build/develop our exotic client base and services. There is a caseload locally and a growing demand across the Wirral for such services, and alongside our small animal patients, we currently look after Rabbits, Guinea pigs, Parrots, tortoises, Bearded Dragons, Geckos and more.

Currently, all three of our sites are well equipped with dental suites, operating theatres, and ultrasound machines. We also have an endoscopy in our Bebington branch and radiography suites and dental x-ray in our Bebington and Heswall branches. We have in-house labs; haematology, biochemistry & microscopy. We are keen to consider investing in equipment to support a growing exotics caseload/service and may even be able to offer exclusive exotics only consult times at our branch sites, on set days.

You would be well supported by a fantastic team here at Broadway Vets. We are a really friendly, passionate team who often share knowledge and discuss clinical cases. Our 5 Veterinary Surgeon team are supported by brilliant Nursing and Client Care teams. We have a mix of service lengths within the team from welcoming more recent joiners to over 30 years’ service! We truly value every member of our team.

Your role and responsibilities

We are looking to welcome a Vet Surgeon who is initially happy with a 90% small animal, 10% exotics caseload split but with the passion and drive to help grow our exotics service, reducing their small animal caseload over time. You will enjoy consulting and be confident at sole charge work. If you are looking for your next move why not have a friendly informal chat with us?

  • Full or part-time applications welcomed. (4-day working week considered)
  • No out of hours (OOH)
