About us

We are a busy small animal practice who see a wide variety of cases, covering all areas of primary care general practice to a high level. Our close knit and highly collaborative team pride themselves on building long term relationships with our clients and their pets.

The main premises at Hady Hill is housed in a converted Chapel and is characterful with some original features. At the beginning of 2020 a full renovation of the premises was completed (check out our 360* video walk through on our website, www.chapelhousevet.co.uk) making it a brighter, modern workspace with top of the range equipment and facilities.

Our branch surgery in the neighbouring area of Staveley was opened in 2014, the premises were previously a doctor’s surgery and provide two floors of modern and spacious facilities.

Both practices have all the equipment you would expect in general practice including digital X-ray, digital dental X-ray, tonometer, video otoscope, rigid endoscopy, capnographs, doppler, multiparameter patient monitoring devices and ultrasound.

We are RCVS PSS accredited to GP status at both sites and an RVN training centre affiliated with Nottingham Trent University. Both our sites recently achieved ISFM Silver Cat Friendly Clinic status.

We have a fantastic team of RVN’s (14 of them) who are highly competent, friendly and supportive, including certificate holders in Physiotherapy, Dermatology and ECC.

We have a team of 10.5 vets with certificate holders in Dermatology and internal medicine and other vets undertaking further study in the areas of ECC, internal medicine and surgery. We also host veterinary new graduates supported by the Linnaeus Graduate Development Program.

We aim to maintain an open and collaborative working atmosphere, encouraging team members at all levels to contribute ideas and ask questions.  We operate a no-blame culture.

Outside of work our team regularly socialise together, at practice events and privately organised ones, including pub trips, sports days, dog walks, weddings, birthdays and baby showers. This comes through into our working environment - we work hard, but we have fun too. We eat a lot of cake and make a fuss of birthdays and special occasions because we genuinely care about milestones in the lives of all of our team members.

Location: Chesterfield is a pleasant market town situated on the edge of the Peak District National Park.

We have a wide variety of night life, social activities and shops to suit everyone. Easy access to the M1 for Sheffield, Nottingham and Derby. We have good rail links to most major cities with frequent services direct to London.
