MEET THE TEAM: AMY BOWCOTT

I’m an RVN with a diploma in advanced nursing (surgical) and my clinical experience helps me place specialist vets at hospitals which fit their requirements and values.

My background means I’m very familiar with the equipment and support required for certain disciplines and this can really help when speaking with candidates. All specialists I have placed are still in their positions – showing good matching for the candidate and Linnaeus.

I’ve worked in my current role for nearly two years and, prior to this, I worked at Willows Veterinary Centre and Referral Service as a manager in the surgical suite for 15 years.

I really enjoy passing on what I’ve learned to other professionals. I wrote two chapters in the BSAVA manual of practice management, endoscopy and how to manage a surgical suite, and I’ve also lectured at BSAVA, BVNA and several regional CPD providers.

Following my role at Willows, I joined the Linnaeus central support team in 2016 and it’s something I really enjoy, as the company’s values completely match my own.

Being a pet owner and a veterinary nurse means providing exceptional veterinary care to every patient is very important to me.

Having been in the industry for more than 20 years, I’m familiar with all our established veterinary referral centres. It’s really exciting to be part of Linnaeus and joining these centres together to provide exceptional care and our ‘committed to excellence’ approach.

Linnaeus has always treated me as an individual throughout my time with them. My role is perfect for me as it provides a great work/life balance.

Being a mum to young twins means life can be hectic but Linnaeus has always supported me and this is something I respect. The company values its employees and makes them feel like they are truly part of the business and make a difference.

Outside of work, my hobbies include walking, horse riding and spending time with family and friends.
