Why join a Linnaeus Graduate Development and Early Careers Programme

Crafted to develop you in all areas of your career, our robust and immersive programmes combine clinical and professional learning modules with practice-based learning, mentoring and support. Our programme is underpinned by 5 core foundations:

Mentoring and Support

From day one your mentors will be readily available to support you both professionally and personally. So whether you need advice on a clinical case, career planning, wellbeing or mental health support, you can be confident that you’ll have regular scheduled meetings with your primary mentor whilst also regularly working alongside them giving you more opportunity for informal catch ups and case advice. Your secondary mentor will also be on hand within your practice alongside dedicated support from our central team.

Clinical Excellence

Our commitment to clinical excellence is at the heart of all that we do at Linnaeus. The combination of mentoring and our core educational days will help you refine your current skills, develop new ones and explore areas of interest.

Professional Excellence

Our commitment to excellence expands into non-clinical areas with professional skills training focusing on communication, conflict management and resolution, and resilience to list just a few.

Recognition and Reward

You can expect a competitive starting salary of £37,100 (with a review at 12-months). We also offer:

  • A permanent contract
  • RCVS Membership fees
  • Professional indemnity insurance and an additional membership of choice (BVA or BSAVA)
  • 5 weeks holiday + Bank Holidays + Birthday Leave
  • Access to our extensive online Linnaeus CPD programmes and online learning

Don’t just take our word for it...

The GDP is a great way to meet up with other new graduates and share your experiences. It also provides great CPD highly relevant to new graduates.
Coleen Jones, Abbey House Vets

The Linnaeus Graduate Development Programme has been integral to my first years in practice – surrounded by like-minded new graduates in a truly supportive environment with a wide range of CPD, it’s really allowed me to hit the ground running. It’s clear the learning is only really beginning when you graduate.
Faye Rawson, Cinque Port Vets

The Linnaeus GDP has been an incredibly supportive and informative introduction into practice life. With impeccable in-house mentorship as well as clinical and pastoral contacts throughout the entire Linnaeus family, the GDP has made the leap into the real world seamless and stress-free.
