Your roles and responsibilities

Our Diagnostic Imaging department is excited to offer the opportunity of a diagnostic imaging consultant to join our busy, purpose-built hospital that is fully equipped with the surgical equipment and diagnostic facilities commensurate with a flagship specialist veterinary hospital, with an emphasis on image acquisition in radiology, CT, and MRI.

This position can be a permanent full-time role or a 12-month maternity cover post, although there is a possibility to convert this to a permanent position if mutually desired at the end of this fixed termed time.

The successful applicant must be American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR) or European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI) board-certified or board eligible. Candidates wishing for part-time or flexible work would be considered.

Our large Diagnostic Imaging team consists of 5 board-certified radiologists, 4 board eligible radiologists in diagnostic imaging, 3 residents, 2 interns and 5 radiographers/assistants. The on-site imaging facilities include radiography (DR), fluoroscopy, 2 ultrasound suites, 0.4T MRI, and 16-slice MDCT. A 64-slice CT and a 1.5T wide-bore MRI shall also be added in an entirely new wing of the hospital expected end of next year.

DWR has an excellent and varied caseload supported by rotating interns, residents, certified veterinary nurses, fellows and 49 veterinary specialists including the following specialities: anatomical pathology, anaesthesia, cardiology, clinical pathology, emergency and critical care, dermatology, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopaedic surgery, and soft tissue surgery.
