Hospital Clinical Nursing Manager
Cromwell Vets – Huntingdon Area
Our Hospital CNM has been stolen by Burtons! Whilst we’re absolutely gutted to lose her, we couldn’t be prouder, she’s going on to brilliant things. But she’s left some very big boots to fill, and we need the right person to step into them.
So are you up to the challenge?

This is a senior, hands-on leadership position combining meaningful clinical work with protected management time. You’ll work closely with the Group Nursing Manager, our Branch CNM, and the wider Linnaeus Nursing Community to drive outstanding patient care and consistent nursing standards across our busy 24-hour hospital and six sites.

Support the nursing rota across the hospital, ensuring robust cover, continuity of care and effective shift planning for a 24/7 environment
Oversee surgical nursing across all theatre areas — supervising nursing teams during procedures and maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and surgical technique
Manage equipment oversight — ensuring all surgical and clinical equipment is serviced, maintained, fit for purpose, and that your team is trained to use it safely and confidently
Drive hospital efficiency — proactively identifying and addressing workflow, communication or capacity issues to keep the hospital running smoothly day to day
Maintain and develop SOPs that are consistently applied across all clinical area
Lead on governance, quality and clinical safety within nursing
Support CPD planning, training and professional development across the team
Maintain a consistent approach to drug and consumables ordering
Work clinically alongside your team, leading by example every shift

Demonstrated experience managing or significantly contributing to rota planning in a busy clinical environment

Confidence in equipment management — including oversight, maintenance schedules and staff competency
Proven ability to manage operational efficiency — you notice where things aren’t working and you do something about it
