Job Title: Lead Veterinary Surgeon

Salary: Up to £67.500 (depending on experience) plus 10% bonus scheme

Location: Longstanton, North Cambridgeshire

Job Type: Permanent

Rota: 42 hours a week - Monday to Friday, 1:4 Saturdays (9am 1pm).

Village Vet has a rare and fantastic opportunity for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to oversee and lead our Multi-vet, Longstanton practice north of Cambridge.  

This is a fantastic mid-sized general small animal veterinary practice, here you will be line managing a team of 3 other experienced Vets. The Longstanton team also works closely with the Cottenham branch as well as the busy hospital based at Milton where there is access to medicine and ECC certificate holders and advanced practitioners. Internal referral of advanced orthopaedic and dentistry cases to our nearby Whittlesford practice is also utilised. The Village Vet Cambridge team work as a team!

The well laid out practice is light and airy, with excellent facilities and equipment. There are separate dirty and clean theatres, dental xray, multiparameter GA monitoring, Idexx blood machines and nurse clinics. The practice is at the heart of the local community and many loyal clients have been with the practice for decades. Local house building and the growth of nearby developments (Northstowe) means a greater demand for veterinary care is coming. We want Longstanton to grow as the region grows, so this role holds an amazing opportunity to build and contribute to the ongoing success of an already excellent practice.

Working alongside a great nurse and client care team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day veterinary work and performance of the practice. You will line manage three other vets. We pride ourselves on learning and evidence-based progression and support this with a generous CPD approach including regular training events. Your personal study and learning would be actively encouraged as part of a bespoke professional development plan. You would be line managed by the clinical director who will facilitate your professional clinical development as well as fostering your business acumen and work with you to enable strategic development.
