Job Title: Lead Veterinary Surgeon 

Salary: Up to £75,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Location: Park Vet Group, Scraptoft Lane, Leicester 

Job Type: Permanent, full-time (flexible working patterns can be discussed) 

Hours: 40 hours over 4-5 days with a 1:4 Saturday rota (8.30am-2pm and 1:15 Sunday (8am-7pm paid extra) no nights, we have a dedicated night team!  Bank holidays on a rota (paid extra).

An exciting Leadership opportunity for a confident Vet in Leicester!

We are seeking a Lead Vet to line manage a wonderful team of 2 other Vets at our wonderful Scraptoft Lane clinic, in Leicester, with the support of a Practice Manager, and Clinical Director. The role will have a clinical focus, with 0.5 days per week admin time.

What we are looking for?

  • RCVS registration and a minimum of 5 years general practice experience.
  • Existing line management experience is desirable but not essential, there is development support into leadership for the right person.
  • A passion for leading and encouraging team development. GDP advisor or desire to become a GDP Advisor.
  • Ability to perform routine neutering (cats and dogs of all sizes) without support – including FLANK cat spays 
  • Ability to perform abdominal ultrasound, TFAST and AFAST imaging without support 
  • Ability to perform exploratory laparotomies, splenectomies, GDVs, gastrotomy and enterotomy without support 
  • Confidence with routine consults in 15 minuets and routine dental cases.
