About us

Shires Vets was established over 70 years ago serving Staffordshire and the surrounding counties in the Midlands, with sites in Eccleshall, Gnosall, Stoke on Trent, Stone, and Stafford. One important thing brings us together; a commitment to excellence in everything we do.

Our largest site is our Stone practice which is a busy, purpose-built practice offering a varied and exciting caseload. The practice is well equipped with Laparoscopy, ultrasound, flexible endoscopy, ophthalmic surgical microscope, dental x-ray, in-house lab and much more. Our Stafford and Eccleshall practices also offer light and spacious working environments with ultrasound, digital x-ray, operating theatres, lab machines and separate dog/cat wards.

Our established team includes several certificate holders (1 x medicine, 1 x surgery 2 x ophthalmology, with a further 5 Vets studying towards medicine, feline, and surgery certificates) plus experienced vets who have been established at Shires for many years. Our vets are supported by a team of 20 RVNs, multiple PCAs, students and a fantastic client care team.  Certificate study and/or certificate holders are welcome.

The Shires team members are all animal owners and take pride in providing a quality, compassionate, and friendly service to all our clients and their precious pets. We all support each other and often discuss clinical cases as a team with regular clinical club evenings and enjoy social gatherings such as quiz night.

At Linnaeus, we are committed to supporting the physical and mental health of all our Associates. We have an amazing team of Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA) across our practices and central support office in addition to a confidential Employee Assistance Programme which is available for everyone.
