The Neurology department at Willows Referral Service is pleased to offer a 1-year neurology internship training programme. As a Neurology intern you will be working as part of the Willows team of five ECVN specialists, one residency trained clinician, three residents in training and two neurology nurses.
The successful candidate will receive intensive training in clinical skills essential for successful management of patients with neurological disease, both medical and surgical. This programme is intended to allow veterinarians to expand their neurology knowledge base and skills in preparation for future training in an neurology residency. The role will also involve weekend working on a 1:3 rota to help alongside the primary care out of hours team, with compensatory days off given for weekend days worked.
Applicants should be highly motivated and have excellent communication skills; a very good command of spoken and written English is essential. A minimum of two years’ postgraduate experience in practice is essential and previous completion of a one-year rotating internship or its equivalent would be preferred. The successful candidate must be able to work with a multi-disciplinary team which is dedicated to the provision of the highest possible level of care for our patients, clients, and referring veterinary surgeons.
