At Dick White Referrals, you will join a vibrant Night Team working in a busy, purpose-built clinic with the surgical equipment and diagnostic facilities expected of a flagship specialist veterinary centre.

As a Night Nurse, you will have the opportunity to work across all of our wards, including ICU, caring for canine and feline patients across all disciplines. You will also be involved in the care and triage of emergencies admitted out of hours.

No two nights are the same, making this a challenging and interesting role with generous time off and a 4 on 5 off pattern that supports a good work life balance.

What will your nursing role involve?

As a Night Nurse, you will:

• Work across all wards, including ICU
• Nurse canine and feline patients across all disciplines
• Be involved in the care and triage of emergencies admitted out of hours
• Be allocated to a ward for the duration of your set of shifts
• Get to know your patients and recognise changes in their condition
• Work alongside a team of Nurses, Nursing Assistants and Interns
• Have a Specialist from each department on call
• Work 12-hour shifts from 18.30 to 06.30
• Follow a 4 nights on, 5 nights off pattern

You will be supported to develop

Referral nursing experience is not essential, as full training will be provided.

• Anaesthesia
• Cardiology
• Dermatology
• Diagnostic Imaging
• Emergency and Critical Care
• Internal Medicine
• Neurology and Neurosurgery
• Oncology
• Orthopaedic Surgery
• Physiotherapy
• Dentistry
• Soft Tissue Surgery

What we're looking for

We are looking for an RVN who:

• Has excellent all-round nursing skills
• Has a passion and drive for delivering outstanding patient care
• Is a team player who enjoys working in a supportive environment
• Can use their initiative
• Is willing to challenge the status quo
• Is enthusiastic about developing their career

Referral nursing experience is not essential. Full training will be provided.
