Are you a Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys the challenge of emergency and critical care, managing complex cases and making confident clinical decisions when it matters most?
At Abbey House Veterinary Hospital, we’re looking for a Night Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly, experienced emergency team.
You’ll manage a varied emergency caseload in a well-equipped Tier 3 hospital, supported by skilled nurses and a collaborative clinical team. With 7 nights on followed by 14 nights off, you’ll also enjoy plenty of time to recharge and pursue life outside work.

About the role
You’ll provide high-quality emergency and critical care throughout the night, including:
- Assessing, stabilising and treating emergency patients
- Managing medical and surgical cases and developing appropriate treatment plans
- Making confident, evidence-based clinical decisions
- Communicating compassionately with clients
- Working closely with the nursing team to deliver excellent patient care
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who has a genuine interest in ECC, confidence managing emergency cases and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
You’ll have excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach and a commitment to high standards of patient and client care, alongside a desire to continue developing your clinical skills.
