Patient Care Assistant- 12 Months Fixed Term

Eye Vet is a specialist ophthalmology referral practice with an opportunity for a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join our team on a 12 month maternity cover contract. 

You will join our team of Ophthalmologists, Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs), PCAs and admin team in a role which is critical in delivering quality patient care and an unrivalled client experience through teamwork, communication and utilisation of knowledge and skills. 

You will be a key member of the nursing team, working collaboratively and under the delegation of a Vet or RVN to support patient care.  You will embrace our culture, with a growth mindset, and have a passion for self-development to support yourself and others 

The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, be used to working under pressure effectively, with high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Understanding of the veterinary profession is preferrable but not essential as full PCA training will be given. 

Hours 
We are looking for a full time applicant, working 40 hours per week with shifts Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.00am and 6.30pm. No weekends or out of hours are applicable. 

Key responsibilities 
Work alongside the veterinary, nursing, and client care teams to deliver an efficient quality service.  Be accountable for any specific tasks or responsibilities delegated to include: 

• Delivering high quality patient care to include working under direction of RVNs and veterinary surgeons 

• Uphold and engage in clinical standards throughout the practice 

• Contribute to an outstanding client experience 

• Maintain sterility and care of kits and instruments

Eye Vet is a dedicated Ophthalmology referral clinic in Sutton Weaver, Cheshire. We're conveniently located just off the M56 and close to Liverpool, Manchester and North Wales. 

Our close-knit team of veterinary ophthalmologists, nurses, anaesthetists and client care are passionate about the ophthalmic treatment we provide, and we benefit from multi-disciplinary support from nearby Northwest Veterinary Specialists and the Liverpool University small animal teaching hospital. 

As well as treating patients referred by primary-care veterinary practices all over the North West of England and North Wales, we also treat a variety of animals off-site, including Chester Zoo. 
Our ophthalmologists share their expertise through clinical teaching and placements for final year students from the university.
