Job Title: Patient Care Assistant
Salary: £21,039.38 per annum
Location: Shires Vets, travel across all branches required
Job Type: Permanent, 35 hours per week.
We are looking for a pro-active Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join our fantastic team. PCAs work in all areas of practice, and it will be necessary to accept instruction from a variety of people.
You will be responsible for preparing theatre for surgeries, cleaning and maintaining the quality of our instruments, assist with patient care and husbandry, running in-house lab tests, packaging biological samples, and assisting with the smooth running of the practice.
Duties will also include, but are not limited to:
- Cleaning, disinfection and preparation of patient accommodation.
- Actively maintain the hospital and follow infection control procedures. This will include sterilising and deep cleaning among other duties.
- Assist with reception and client care, including answering the telephone, dealing with enquiries, booking procedures and taking payments.
- Assist Veterinary Surgeons, Veterinary Nurses, and support staff where and when required.
- Work and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients. Demonstrate the ability to be reliable, adaptable, understanding and empathetic.
