Hours: 38 hours per week
Shifts: Early: 8am-4pm and Lates: 11am-7pm, plus 1:6 weekends 8am - 4pm
Salary: £26707.20 FTE pro-rated to £25,371.84 per annum
Are you organised, customer-focused and passionate about delivering exceptional care? We're looking for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our dedicated Clinical Support Services team at Willows Veterinary Centre.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting our veterinary teams by ensuring the accurate preparation and dispensing of medications, maintaining pharmacy stock and providing excellent service to both clients and colleagues. Every day is different and you'll be part of a collaborative team committed to delivering outstanding care for pets.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Pharmacy Assistant, you'll help ensure the smooth running of our busy veterinary pharmacy by:
- Preparing and dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Assisting clients with prescription queries, repeat medication requests and over-the-counter products.
- Creating, processing and managing pharmaceutical and hospital supply orders.
- Receiving, checking and organising stock deliveries.
- Monitoring stock levels, supporting regular stock takes and minimising waste.
- Processing returns, delivery discrepancies and supplier follow-up items.
- Sourcing suitable alternatives when products are unavailable or discontinued.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and compliant pharmacy environment.
- Supporting colleagues across the practice and providing cover during annual leave or sickness when required.
- Following all Health & Safety, infection control and practice policies.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has excellent attention to detail and enjoys working accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Delivers outstanding customer service with a friendly, professional approach.
- Has strong organisational and communication skills.
- Works well as part of a team and can manage their workload effectively.
- Is confident using computer systems and handling administrative tasks.
- Has experience in a pharmacy, veterinary or healthcare environment (desirable but not essential).
