Veterinary Client Care Assistant
Salary: £12.84 per hour
Location: Spinney Vets, Wootton Fields and Spinney Vets Kettering Road
Job Type: Permanent, Part-time
Hours: 19.5 hours per week
Various weekday shifts, plus 1 in 4 Saturday mornings 8.30am-12.30pm on a rota.
We are currently seeking a Client Care Assistant to join our team within a fast-paced environment.
The successful applicant will be working front of house in our reception and admin areas ensuring a smooth client experience from the waiting area to the consult room to the payment process. To have the flexibility to work at various times and ability to support with covering annual leave/sickness is essential.
We would like to hear from candidates who are customer focused and confident communicators. The position will best suit a proactive and enthusiastic individual with a passion for providing excellent customer service, who is calm and able to demonstrate a high level of empathy. The ability to work well under pressure and still provide the highest level of patience and care are the qualities we are looking for.
Your role and responsibilities
- Manage and deal with appointment bookings in a professional and efficient manner.
- Support the business with a range of administrative duties.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Dispense medication.
- Work well in a fast-paced environment and still maintain a high level of customer service and completing all tasks to a high standard.
- Show awareness of financial control within the practice.
- Be happy to discuss financial issues with clients
- Management of the practice diary to ensure all patients are booked in efficiently.
- Maintain the highest professional and ethical standards.
- Maintain a high standard of communication, both verbal and written
- Keep the consultation and waiting areas clean and tidy throughout the day
- Serve clients and take payments, advise customers on products and services.
- Banking duties.
Other Duties
- Contribute to the continuous improvement to the practice and working environment
- Undertake other activities as required
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Experience dealing with customers in a customer facing role.
- To always maintain the highest level of phone etiquette.
- Previous veterinary experience is desirable but not essential.
- A proactive and positive mindset.
- Adapt well to learning a new system if no previous experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Highly motivated to provide excellent service to clients, the practice and referral clinics.
- Work well within a team and be a positive member of the team.
- Ability to work at a fast pace, under pressure along with lone working and managing own workload.
- Professional approach to work.
- Excellent administration, organisational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent IT skills – Microsoft (Outlook, Word and Excel, Teams).
