Hours: 42 hours per week | 4-day working week | 1:6 weekends

Salary: £37,000 DOE

The role

We're looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our daytime nursing team at Village Vet Hampstead.

Our nurses are one of the biggest strengths of the hospital. They're highly qualified, clinically engaged and genuinely want to work to the top of their licence. The challenge is that we don't currently have enough nurses to unlock everything they're capable of doing.

You'll have the opportunity to work across ECC, inpatient care, surgery and nurse-led clinical services, with scope to develop areas including Schedule 3 procedures, nurse consultations, Stage 1 dentistry, life-stage and behaviour clinics, point-of-care imaging and local anaesthesia.

You'll be part of a 24-hour hospital with a dedicated night team, a varied caseload and plenty of clinical expertise around you. Whether you already have experience in these areas or there are skills you want to develop, you'll have the support and opportunity to build your nursing career around your interests.

The team and practice

Village Vet Hampstead is a well-established 24-hour veterinary hospital in Belsize Park, North London. The hospital provides first-opinion, emergency and referral care, giving the nursing team exposure to a varied and interesting caseload.

The practice has a strong focus on medical excellence and clinical governance, with regular team discussions, audits and opportunities to learn from colleagues. You'll work alongside a large multidisciplinary team, including experienced nurses and clinicians with certificate-level expertise, as well as a dedicated night team providing continuity of care for hospitalised patients.

Our nursing team is particularly engaged in developing nurse-led services. They already have the skills and enthusiasm to deliver more, we're looking for another RVN to help create the capacity to make that happen.

Hampstead itself is well connected, with Belsize Park Underground station nearby and plenty of green space within walking distance. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome to come to work.

What we're looking for
A Registered Veterinary Nurse with at least 2 years UK experience a strong foundation in small animal nursing
Someone confident working within a busy hospital environment, including ECC, inpatient care and surgery
A nurse who wants to use their clinical skills fully and take ownership of their own nursing caseload
An interest in developing or expanding skills in areas such as Schedule 3, nurse consultations, dentistry, imaging or life-stage care
Someone who enjoys working collaboratively, discussing cases and learning from experienced colleagues
A proactive approach to clinical governance, patient care and continued professional development
