Hours: 40 hours per week over 5 days

At Wicstun Vets, our nurses are at the heart of everything we do. We're looking for a compassionate, motivated, and dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our friendly team in Market Weighton.

This is an excellent opportunity for an RVN who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care while working in a supportive practice that values teamwork, professional development, and high clinical standards.

The Role

As a key member of our nursing team, you will work closely with our Clinical Nursing Manager, veterinary surgeons, and wider practice team to ensure the highest standards of patient and client care are delivered every day.

You'll play an important role in supporting and mentoring junior nurses and animal care assistants, helping to create a positive working environment where everyone can thrive.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver outstanding nursing care to a wide range of patients.
  • Assist veterinary surgeons with consultations, procedures, and surgeries.
  • Provide excellent care for hospitalised patients, including pre-operative, post-operative, and inpatient nursing.
  • Administer medications, treatments, fluid therapy, dressings, and other nursing procedures in line with professional guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records, including anaesthetic and hospitalisation documentation.
  • Support patient admissions and discharges, ensuring clients receive clear communication and excellent service.
  • Help maintain high standards of cleanliness, infection control, and equipment maintenance throughout the practice.
  • Assist with stock management and replenishment.
  • Support reception when required, including updating clients on their pets' progress.
  • Take an active role in training and mentoring student nurses and animal care assistants.
  • Participate in an agreed shared out-of-hours nursing rota.
  • Contribute to practice events, client education, and occasional marketing initiatives.
