About us
Veterinary Specialists Scotland (VSS) is seeking an ECVS or ACVS-boarded (or board-eligible) Small Animal Surgeon to cover both Soft Tissue and Orthopaedic cases. You will be joining an established surgical team of 4 surgeons and will be supported by a team of internal medicine specialists, anaesthetists, diagnostic imagers, cardiologists, neurologists and a dermatology department.
The case load is varied and includes both external referrals and internal case transfers. We have the capacity to perform open, interventional and laparoscopic procedures with state-of-the-art equipment. Other facilities include Biomedtrix THR, Synthes and Arthrex plating gear, and a fully equipped operating suite.

We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach and one who shares this ethos to help make VSS a supportive, stimulating and enjoyable place to practise veterinary medicine and surgery to the highest standard.
Based in Livingston, Veterinary Specialists Scotland is located near to the City of Edinburgh but also has excellent transport links to Glasgow. It is also only 15 minutes from Edinburgh Airport. Edinburgh is a beautiful and vibrant city, famous for its festival and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. While the cities have much to offer, for those who prefer the great outdoors mountains, countryside and coastline are all within easy reach. Edinburgh is also a family-friendly place, which offers all the advantages of a big city, including fantastic schools and plenty of indoor and outdoor activities.
