Hours: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm – 10:00pm

Salary: From £28,000 per annum depending on experience

We are looking for a Twilight Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Veterinary Specialists Scotland (VSS).

Veterinary Specialists Scotland is a multi-disciplinary referral hospital at Deer Park, Livingston, conveniently located close to both Edinburgh and Glasgow. Situated just off Junction 3 of the M8 motorway and with easy access from the M9, we are also well connected to Stirling and the Borders.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our dedicated nursing team during one of the busiest and most rewarding parts of the day. Working a consistent Monday to Friday twilight shift offers an excellent work-life balance while playing a key role in supporting patient care, hospital admissions, and smooth clinical handovers into the night service.

As a Twilight Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will provide exceptional nursing care to patients across our specialist services, including Internal Medicine, Orthopaedics, Neurology, Cardiology and Soft Tissue Surgery. You will work closely with clinicians, day teams and the overnight team to ensure continuity of care for our patients, supporting those within our wards and ICU and helping prepare patients for evening procedures or overnight hospitalisation.

This varied role provides the opportunity to utilise and develop a broad range of advanced nursing skills within a busy referral environment.

What kind of person you need to be

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse who has:

  • A passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
  • Excellent clinical nursing skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while also being confident working independently.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive approach to learning and developing their clinical knowledge.
  • A passion for mentoring and supporting colleagues where appropriate.
  • A flexible and positive attitude with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care.

Previous referral would be an advantage however is not essential, as full support and training will be provided.
