Job Title: Receptionist

Salary: £11.56 per hour

Location:  Warwick road, Solihull (may be required to work at different branches)

Job Type: 6 months fixed-term contract

Hours: 37 hours per week

Please note that this role is initially fixed term until 31.12.2024 but may be extendable at that time.

Your role and responsibilities

As a veterinary receptionist, you are the main point of contact for clients by telephone and in person whilst supporting the clinical team of vets and nurses. This role is incredibly varied and the ability to work under pressure and multi-task is essential. The ideal candidate will be positive, friendly, and service-orientated.

We encourage growth within the profession for all staff members and successful applicants will be offered membership to the BVRA (British Veterinary Receptionist Association), as well as in-house training and a CPD (Continuing Professional Development) allowance.

This role will involve:

  • Welcoming and registering new clients

  • Ensuring clients receive gold standard care throughout the entirety of their time with us through outstanding communication and managing expectations

  • Answering the telephone and dealing with a range of customer queries

  • Administration duties e.g. various paperwork

  • Taking payments

  • Promoting offers and services

  • Ensuring that public areas are clean and presentable.

  • Flexibility to cover holidays or sickness

Experience required:

  • Previous customer service experience working within a fast-paced environment (essential) preferably in a veterinary, or similar, environment

  • Proven record of maintaining good working relationships with clients and colleagues

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Excellent organisational and prioritising skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks, work to tight deadlines and stay focused under pressure

  • Outstanding telephone manner with the ability to build rapport with customers quickly

  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook desirable
