Job Title: Veterinary Surgeon

Location: Peak Vets, Sheffield

Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum plus £5000 Welcome Bonus or Relocation Package available!

Hours: 40 hours over a 4-day working week with 1 in 7 weekends (Sat 8.30-4pm and Sunday 9am-1pm - on call for inpatients only after this time)

About the role:

This is a great environment for a confident Small Animal Vet, to join a multi-vet primary care team. You will see a good mix of consults and surgeries; we have several team members with interests and further qualifications, and welcome discussions around specific interests and certificate studies. We are also proud to work closely with the RSPCA overseeing welfare cases.

Full time hours over a 4-day working week with 1 in 7 weekends. Inpatients are cared for on site and Vets Now are used from 9pm for emergencies.

About Peak Vets:

Peak Vets is a single site, RCVS Veterinary Hospital located in the borough of Woodseats within the vibrant city of Sheffield (labelled the ‘Northern Capital of Cool’ by The Times). Peak pride themselves on providing high quality, accessible healthcare for their client’s pets. The practice has a very low turnover of associates; they love their work and like to have fun together within and outside of the practice. The practice has 4 spacious consulting rooms, 2 operating theatres, separate cat, dog and isolation wards and separate imaging and dental rooms, and is well equipped with the usual in-house diagnostic and surgical kit you would expect from an RCVS Hospital practice.

About the Peak Vets Team:

We have a welcoming team of 8.5 FTE Vets including Advanced Practitioners in Veterinary Dermatology, Small Animal Medicine and Feline Medicine, alongside three surgery certificate holders. Our Vet team are ably supported by a brilliant nursing and client care team. We run regular clinical clubs to discuss recent advancements in veterinary care / discuss journal papers and actively encourage progression and development with fully funded Certificates and CPD.

The Peak Vets team have taken part in regular social events in the vibrant city of Sheffield, and wellbeing activities such as regular team walks in the beautiful Peak District (welcome with or without a dog!), Charity sponsored mud runs and visits to the Aqua Park in Rother Valley Country Park. We celebrate everyone’s birthday with our cake rota and much more. It’s a wonderful team that we would love for you to be a part of.

Relocation assistance/welcome bonus: We would love to assist with the relocation process for those considering moving to the area, and can offer a relocation package up to £5000 to help you move and settle, If you are already in the area there is a £5000 welcome bonus available for this role.
