Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum. Negotiable and D.O.E

Location: Cherrydown Vets, Basildon

Job Type: Permanent. Full-time and part-time applications welcomed

Hours:40 hours per week with a 1:3 Saturday rota, and no OOH

Cherrydown Vets are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their team in Basildon, Essex.

If you have a strong background in first opinion practice, including surgery and ECC caseloads, and are looking for a work environment that prioritises wellbeing and mental health, then Cherrydown Vets is the place for you!

We offer a large hospital environment with excellent equipment enabling you to advance your skills and allow for great workup for your patients. Our facilities include a new X-ray machine, Laparoscopy kit, and a large hospital area that includes 2 theatres, and a separate dental and X-ray suite. We are proud to have a silver cat-friendly award which we have just had approved for another year.

In return, we can offer a supportive working environment, with a great team of nurses who are interested in schedule 3 and utilising their full capability. Our CCA and admin support team allow our vets to see their patients, supporting them with triaging and dispensing medications in our purpose-built dispensary area.

We work closely with surrounding specialist hospitals and are five minutes away from Southfields. We are really keen on utilising our skillset within the team and upskilling to improve our surgical offering. Cherrydown Vets are a progressive, forward-thinking, premium veterinary group with an excellent reputation thanks to our 60 Vets, Nurses, Patient Care Assistants (PCA), Receptionists and support staff. We are based across three sites which include the main hospital, Basildon, and two practices in Stanford and Wickford, serving as preventative clinics.
