The team and practice
Cromwell Vets is a large, RCVS-accredited hospital in Huntingdon supported by five branch practices across Cambridgeshire. The hospital is purpose-built for a high caseload and is equipped to manage advanced and complex cases in-house, including advanced imaging, digital radiography, full endoscopy suite (gastroscopy, bronchoscopy and rigid endoscopy), laparoscopy, dental radiography and comprehensive anaesthetic monitoring.
A key strength of Cromwell is its depth of clinical expertise. The team includes multiple certificate holders and advanced practitioners across core disciplines, Medicine, Soft tissue and Orthopaedic Surgery, Cardiology, ECC, Ophthalmology, Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging and Dentistry. Thus creating a genuinely collaborative environment where cases are discussed, challenged, and progressed collectively. This is not a siloed practice, it is a clinically integrated hospital team where learning happens daily, through real cases, with immediate access to high-level support. What sets Cromwell apart is not just the scale of the hospital, but the clinical density and expertise within it. With a high number of certificate holders and advanced practitioners across multiple disciplines, you are never working in isolation — you are working alongside clinicians who actively elevate case standards and support development in real time.
The caseload is busy, varied and consistently moving. This is a hospital where you will stay clinically sharp, build confidence quickly, and be actively exposed to both routine and complex presentations.
Huntingdon offers strong lifestyle balance with excellent transport links and accessibility. Cambridge is approximately 20–30 minutes away, offering a world-class academic and cultural hub, while surrounding Cambridgeshire provides market towns, countryside living and more affordable housing options.
