A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Vet to join a wonderful Sheffield practice.

With longstanding team members and very low staff turnover, this is a rare opportunity to become part of a close-knit team where culture and collaboration are truly valued.

Why join us?

  • Peak Vets is a single-site RCVS Veterinary Hospital located in Woodseats, within the vibrant city of Sheffield (labelled the “Northern Capital of Cool” by The Times). We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, accessible healthcare for our clients’ pets.
  • You’ll enjoy a varied caseload of consults and surgeries. Several team members hold further qualifications and have clinical interests, and we actively support discussions around developing specific interests and undertaking certificate studies. We are also proud to work closely with the RSPCA, overseeing welfare cases.
  • The practice features 4 spacious consulting rooms, 2 operating theatres, separate cat, dog and isolation wards, dedicated imaging and dental suites, and is fully equipped with the in-house diagnostic and surgical facilities expected of an RCVS Hospital plus a dedicated area for staff dogs.
  • Our team includes certificate holders in feline medicine, dermatology and medicine, as well as two in surgery. Our nurses also hold a variety of certificates, and we are supported by two visiting specialists in ophthalmology and cardiology.
  • The Peak District is right on our doorstep — offering wild peaks, rugged moorland and breathtaking views. Think chocolate-box villages nestled in rolling countryside, pretty cottages and dogs snoozing by cosy pub fires.

The team

The practice has exceptionally low turnover — our associates genuinely love what they do and enjoy spending time together both inside and outside of work.

Our Vets are supported by an outstanding nursing and client care team. We run regular clinical clubs to discuss recent advancements in veterinary care and review journal articles, and we actively encourage progression with fully funded certificates and generous CPD support.

The Peak Vets team regularly takes part in social events across Sheffield, as well as wellbeing activities such as team walks in the beautiful Peak District (with or without a dog!), charity mud runs and trips to the Aqua Park at Rother Valley Country Park. We even celebrate everyone’s birthday with our much-loved cake rota — and much more. It’s a truly welcoming team that we would love you to be part of.

What we’re looking for

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience within a small animal practice
  • A confident small animal Vet, comfortable with routine primary care duties and basic emergency procedures
  • An interest in developing advanced skills — CPD and professional growth are actively encouraged
  • Someone who values teamwork, enjoys variety and shares our passion for delivering exceptional patient care

What we offer

  • 5-weeks holiday plus bank holidays and birthday leave
  • RCVS and VDS fees paid
  • Employer contribution pension scheme
  • Life assurance
  • E-car salary sacrifice scheme
  • Enhanced equal family leave
  • Extensive internal and funded external CPD
