Job Title: Veterinary Surgeon  

Salary: Up to £60,000 (D.O.E.) 

Location: Oak Barn Vets - Guildford, Surrey  

Job Type: Permanent. Full-time  

Hours: 38 hours per week over 3 long days with one early finish. Wednesday off plus Saturday mornings (8am-1pm) equally shared by the vet team (currently 2:5) No OOH

The Team  

You will join a collaborative and experienced veterinary team comprising 4 Veterinary Surgeons, 5 RVNs, a PCA, 3 Receptionists and an Administrator. We are supported by a loyal client base that is committed to high-quality care and generally open to full diagnostic and treatment work-ups. 

Our clinical team has interests in soft tissue and laparoscopic surgery (with training and support available), medicine, ultrasonography and exotics, including two certificate holders. We are keen to support your professional development—whether that means building confidence, expanding clinical skills, or developing a niche and internal referral pathway aligned with your interests. 

We work in a beautiful beamed converted barn, with ample off-road parking and an outdoor space for lunch (and the occasional team murder mystery), overlooking fields of cows and horses. 

What We’re Looking For 

  • An experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a strong clinical background 
  • Someone who can demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Show a proactive approach to preventative healthcare and case management 
  • Be committed to maintaining high clinical and client-care standards
