Hours: 40 hours per week, 4-day week, 1:4 weekends (Saturday morning) with time off in lieu, no OOHs

The Role

You’ll enjoy a varied small animal caseload, with plenty of opportunity to get involved in consultations, surgery and inpatient care.

We know that being a vet can be challenging, which is why we place a real emphasis on supporting each other. You’ll have experienced colleagues around you to bounce cases off, talk through tricky decisions and share ideas with — there’s always someone happy to have a chat over a coffee.

We also have dedicated time for learning and development, including case discussions every two weeks, alongside plenty of informal opportunities to discuss cases and learn from the team.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing high-quality clinical care across consultations, surgery and inpatient work
• Managing a varied small animal caseload
• Working closely with our experienced veterinary and nursing team
• Discussing cases and sharing ideas with colleagues
• Taking part in regular case discussions and ongoing learning
• Building strong relationships with clients and their pets
• Contributing ideas and helping shape how we work as a practice
• Being part of a positive, friendly and supportive team

• An RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
• Someone with a genuine interest in small animal practice
• A confident and caring clinician, or a vet keen to continue developing their clinical skills
• Someone who enjoys working as part of a team
• Friendly, approachable and happy to ask questions as well as share knowledge
• Kind, patient and understanding with both clients and colleagues
• Someone who is keen to learn and develop
• A vet who wants to work somewhere where teamwork, support and enjoying your job really matter

About St Clair Vets

St Clair Vets is a friendly, RCVS‑accredited small animal practice with two branches and an in‑house ophthalmology referral team at Vet Vision. Our caseload is varied and interesting, with excellent access to specialist advice and CPD through Vet Services Scotland.
