One of the UK’s leading veterinary practices has appointed a regional nursing manager to oversee its 30 clinics across London, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

Linnaeus-owned Village Vet has recruited experienced RVN Kerry Jackson to lead and support its extensive nursing team.

Kerry, who has a Level 3 qualification in Leadership and Management, says she’s excited by the opportunity and keen to encourage her nursing colleagues to aim high and fulfil their potential.

She explained: “I am very proud to be appointed as regional nurse manager at Village Vet, where I will maintain an overview of the nursing teams and the provision of high-quality sustainable care.

“My main focus will be on supporting the nurses as I believe that working together there really are no limits to what we can achieve. I also aim to regarded as a positive point of contact for staff and as someone who will listen and support where needed.”

“As part of Linnaeus, there’s a dedicated, senior nursing team and a wide range of resources to help our nurses develop their full potential while delivering excellence to our clients and their pets.”

Village Vet’s regional director Hadi Borhani said: “Kerry is an outstanding addition to the team and joins us with a wealth of experience and a clear vision for the future.

“Her arrival demonstrates just how dedicated we are to providing the best care to our pet patients and their owners as well as empowering our nursing staff to be the best they can be.”

Kerry has previously worked in primary care, referral practice and education and says her first task is to review the team and current working practices and then look to expand and improve the service.

She said: “We are currently taking a look at the nursing structure and our support staff with a view to establishing a clear framework within the group.

“This will support shared responsibility, help with the work-life balance and career development for staff at every level while always maintaining the provision of high-quality sustainable care.

“Throughout my career I have always had a desire to improve standards of care and I am really enthusiastic about the opportunities that will be opening up within Village Vet in the near future.

“I hope to see the expansion and development of the team, so everyone is able to be fully utilised to provide excellent care to clients and patients and can see opportunities for career progression and a clear career pathway.”
