Vet Lisa Takes Centre Stage On Return To Broadway
- Details
It’s been a case of many happy returns for vet surgeon Lisa Wharton after starting her new role at a top veterinary group in the North West.
Lisa worked for the Linnaeus-owned Broadway Veterinary Surgery, on the Wirral, for the first two years of her career.
She first joined Broadway, which has practices in Bebington, Wallasey, and Heswall, after graduating from the nearby University of Liverpool in 2016.
Now, she’s back again after four years away and said: “Returning to Broadway Vets has given me a real sense of 'coming home’.
“It’s great to be back. I really enjoyed working here as a new graduate for two years before moving on to a busy charity hospital in Liverpool for four years.”
Lisa is looking forward to playing a key role in the continuing success of the popular Broadway group of surgeries, adding: “I enjoy all aspects of small animal practice but my main interests are surgery, veterinary education and pain management.
“I am a veterinary GDP advisor too and enjoy being a mentor to new graduates and helping them develop in their new careers.
“I have also enrolled onto the Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists foundation course and hope to be using my new knowledge and skills in practice very soon.”
There certainly should be no doubting Lisa’s energy for her new position as she fills her time outside work with travelling and hiking.
She explained: “Outside of work my main passion is travel. I love exploring in my camper van with my partner and three dogs, dachshunds Wilson and Walter and our rescue spaniel Willow.
“Failing that, you'll usually find me up a mountain as I'm a keen hiker! This summer, I've completed the Tour du Mont Blanc and trekked through the Atlas Mountains to summit Mount Toubkal.”
