A clinical nursing manager at a popular south-west London veterinary practice is toasting exam success.

Jessica Harding, who works for Linnaeus-owned Vet4Life, which has sites in Surbiton, Teddington and Shepperton, recently gained an NCert in Surgical Nursing, a well-respected industry qualification.

Achieving the certificate is no mean feat and involved completing eight theory modules and eight full-day webinars with extensive additional research, an in-depth written assignment, a multiple-choice exam and an applied knowledge exam.

Reflecting on her exam success and work in the veterinary profession, Jessica said: “I’m very proud of this qualification and I feel incredibly lucky to work with a team of amazing vets, nurses and client care assistants who champion each other to develop skills and gain experience, allowing us to provide the highest standard of care.”

On a practical level, Jessica, who has worked for Vet4Life for four years, is proficient in using an ultrasound scan machine as part of her role.

Jessica added: “I love radiology and using the ultrasound scan machine in emergency situations. I am very fortunate that I work with vets who allow me to explore these skills, ask questions and discuss cases together. They are also amazing at training and guiding me as a nurse.”

Roxanne O’Brien, practice manager at Vet4Life, said: “Jessica is a credit to the profession and this latest, well-earned qualification will further enhance the level of care she provides to patients and clients.”

Outside of work, Jessica enjoys spending time with family, friends and her rescue dog Carter, watching ruby team Harlequins and supporting Arsenal WFC.
