Village Vet Cambridge has a long established, excellent reputation for providing outstanding care for pets and clients alike. Our veterinary nurses are the foundation of the work that we do

With five unique sites in the region, we are fortunate to be able to offer a variety of roles, offering our nurses the opportunity to shape their career so it is a perfect fit whatever that may be. With job satisfaction and happiness at work being one of our biggest priorities we hope you will consider a role with us and would love to hear from you.

We can offer a transparent career framework for professional progression, alongside excellent pay and benefits. We have supported many nurses with their growth and development over the years, resulting in high retention levels. We are building an open-minded, progressive culture and being part of the Linnaeus and Mars group enables us to truly invest in the long-term future, not just for short-term gains. Our commitment to sustainable and responsible growth is real and exists at every level and our supportive line management system is well established, offering frequent 1:1s and career coaching.

The roles available are as varied as our practices with locations at Milton, Whittlesford, Longstanton, Cottenham and Royston. Each branch retains their own identity but supports one another and plays to their strengths, just like our nurses!

At our purpose built Whittlesford practice we focus on surgery (including laparoscopic surgery, TTAs/TPLOs, fracture repairs) and dentistry. Milton’s emphasis is ECC and medicine, and by hosting our own vet24 OOH service, we see an exciting and varied case load benefiting from a continuity of day and night clinical care. Many local practices feed into our Milton clinic, resulting in a true critical care case load. No day is ever the same. We are well equipped with everything you would expect, including endoscopes, in-house laboratory and dental suites.

Longstanton, Royston and Cottenham have a family feel and are at the heart of their local communities. With great reputations, they pride themselves on a traditional, personalised service. This means we can offer both an industry leading quality of care, whilst still knowing the clients by name, and commonly forming longstanding professional relationships with them.

A Village Vet nursing role includes a wide breadth of nursing duties, incorporating the management of complex medical and surgical patients, provision of perioperative care, assisting with the provision of anaesthesia and schedule III procedures, as well as supporting the patient journey from admission to discharge. We also support our clients with regular (and busy!) nurse clinics. Our vets are amazing, many of them are certificate holders and some are advanced practitioners too. Our veterinary surgeons appreciate and respect the nursing team, valuing their professionalism and input.

We pride ourselves on learning and evidence-based progression and support this with a generous CPD budget and regular training events. Your personal study and learning would be actively encouraged as part of a bespoke professional development plan. If there is something you want to do? We will work with you to make it happen!
