An exciting opportunity has opened in the Rehabilitation Center at the Dewsbury Hospital for a veterinary physiotherapist to work alongside the rehabilitation team, you will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team within the Hospital and other branches to provide a high level of veterinary physiotherapy outpatient care.

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing outpatient physiotherapy services for referred and primary clients with responsibility for own caseload
  • Performing physiotherapy assessments of patients, to develop and deliver individualized treatment programs
  • Communicating all aspects of a physiotherapy care plan with members of the multidisciplinary team, clients and referring vets
  • Developing a rapport with clients to determine their needs and wishes, providing them with emotional support and evidence-based advice through the rehabilitation process
  • Maintaining client and patient records and ensure all necessary information is up to date through established protocols; assist colleagues in follow up and future patient management

You must hold a BSc (Hons), MSc or PgDip qualification in Veterinary Physiotherapy. You should be a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy (ACPAT), Institute of Registered Veterinary and Animal Physiotherapists (IRVAP), National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists (NAVP) or registered with the Animal Health Professionals’ Register (AHPR) or Register of Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners (RAMP). • Hydrotherapy qualification and experience is desirable. Candidates must have at least 1 years’ experience working as a veterinary physiotherapist.

Desirable alternate week rota pattern covering days, evenings and 1 in 4 Saturdays. To be discussed in depth prior to interview.

Position is for 20 hours per week
