Job Title: Veterinary Surgeon – Exotics
Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum (D.O.E.)
Location: Alder Vets, Guildford
Job Type: Permanent. Full-time or part-time
Hours: 40 hours per week over 4 days, 1 in 4 Saturdays (8am-4pm) No OOH
We have an exciting opportunity for a small animal vet with an interest in exotics to join our amazing team at Alder Vets in Guildford.

- Wide range of services: We provide neutering, dentals, microchipping, vasectomies, pre- and post-hibernation checks, bloods, and annual health assessments – and are always open to developing and expanding this list.
The Team
We are a passionate, close-knit team of 4 Vets and 6 nurses plus a wonderful team of support staff and PCA’s to support the Vet team to enable the best level of care for our clients and their pets.
We are located within walking distance of amenities including a spa and gym as well as a convenient coffee shop, grocery store and alongside a beautiful park. We can offer great facilities outside the hospital as well as inside and hope that this will aid our great work/life balance ethos.
We strongly believe in investing in our staff, too. Career progression and CPD (including certificates) are encouraged and funded for all staff. If there is an area or discipline, you’d like to explore, we’re keen to develop this.
What we’re looking for
- Our ideal candidate will be confident and experienced in both general small animal surgery and medicine, with a particular focus on exotic animals.
- Ideally you will hold a certificate in exotics, currently studying, or are keen to start a certificate.
- The most important thing is that you’re friendly, empathetic, and have excellent communication skills.
