Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced veterinary Clinical Pathologist to join our team of Clinical Pathologists and Anatomic Pathologists at Dick White Referrals (DWR), near Cambridge, UK.

The laboratory is within the busy hospital at DWR, which is currently undergoing expansion, and we look forward to moving into our new state of the art laboratory soon.

Much of our work is from referred patients at DWR and other referral hospitals in the UK, but we also receive first opinion samples, providing a varied and interesting workload. We enjoy interacting with our clinical associates in the hospital and with our Radiologist and Anatomic Pathologist associates, allowing for tailored individualised reports and excellent feedback and discussion of cases.

Primary duties include the evaluation and interpretation of clinical pathology results (haematology, biochemistry, endocrinology) and cytology samples. We have a busy flow cytometry service, and an interest in haematopathology would be advantageous (although not essential). We have a residency programme and take part in seminars, rounds, journal clubs and research projects.

Please note that this is a full-time post, however, a 4-day week would also be considered by mutual agreement.

Applicants should ideally be board certified by the European College of Veterinary Pathologists, America College of Veterinary Pathologists or Royal College of Pathologists.

As you would expect from the UK’s largest private veterinary referral hospital, we offer an inspiring and friendly working environment together with career development opportunities and an attractive benefits package. Lecturing at conferences is strongly encouraged.

If you share our passion for delivering excellence, trust and care then we would love to hear from you.
