We are looking for a residency trained, or specialist neurologist to join our busy neurology team. You will be working in our specialist-led multi-disciplinary hospital to provide the highest quality care to patients.

About us

We are looking for an additional Neurology Specialist to join our busy Neurology and Neurosurgery service at Paragon Veterinary Referrals, a multi-disciplinary small animal referral centre. As part of a truly multi-disciplinary team, you will work alongside two experienced ECVN diplomates and one ECVN Resident, and other Specialists in soft tissue surgery, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, internal medicine, oncology, cardiology, emergency and critical care, and anaesthesia. We also have a dedicated and friendly imaging support team. Our philosophy is very much one of friendly co-operation between clinicians in every specialism sharing our aim of providing the best possible level of care for clients, their pets and for referring veterinary surgeons.

The successful applicant is expected to hold an ECVN or ACVIM-Neurology Diploma or to be eligible for ACVIM-Neurology or ECVN Diploma examination after having completed an approved neurology residency program. Due to the high neurosurgical caseload, experience in neurosurgery is preferable. The Candidate also must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom.

If you join us you will have an excellent team of support staff who will give you the opportunity to concentrate on your clinical caseload and to work in a pleasant, supportive and good-humoured atmosphere. In-patient care is a priority and includes 24-hour veterinary surgeon and nursing attention including an ICU. Weekend cover is based on a shared rota with other clinicians.

Facilities include a 1.5T Toshiba Elan MRI scanner, Toshiba Aquilion Lightning 16 slices helical CT scanner, a surgical microscope specific for neurosurgery, Toshiba Ziehm Solo Mobile C-arm fluoroscopy unit, Toshiba Intuition 701C direct digital radiography system, and Neurogen TruTrace NCS/EMG/EP neurodiagnostic system. 

Paragon is centrally located within easy reach of Wakefield and Leeds, Leeds Bradford Airport, and the national rail and motorway networks. It is only a short drive away from the Peak District, historic York, Harrogate, and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales
