Cheshire Animal Hospital Invests £125,000 In New Equipment As Part Of Growth Plans

Linnaeus-owned Northwest Veterinary Specialists, in Sutton Weaver, Runcorn, has installed two new state-of-the-art steam sterilisers at a cost of £125,000.

The sterilisers, also known as autoclaves in the veterinary industry, are to the same standard as those used in human medicine.

Northwest Veterinary Specialists clinical director Prue Neath said: “It may only be the spring but we already have a long-term plan in place for 2022 and beyond.

“We’re committed to expanding the service we provide for our pet patients and this new sterilising equipment illustrates that perfectly, as they’re exactly the same standard as used in human medicine.

"The autoclaves are an important addition and are the latest part of an ongoing commitment to expand and upgrade our facilities and treatments to support our plans for future growth

“Our hospital has been open for 15 years now and has grown significantly in that time and we are determined to develop still further in the years ahead.”

Autoclaves are vital equipment in ensuring medical instruments and equipment is completely sterile and safe.
They use steam under pressure to kill harmful bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores on any equipment, with the moisture in the steam efficiently transferring heat to the items to destroy any dangerous contamination.
